Born in Lincolnshire, now London-based, Ryan Collis is currently a Bachelor of Music (Hons) student in both Composition and Piano at the Royal College of Music in London. Ryan is a remarkable composer, pianist, organist, and improviser currently studying under professors Kenneth Hesketh, William Mival, and Kathryn Sturrock. 

A winner of the NCEM Young Composers Award 2024, The Tallis Scholars will perform "Lux Divinae" at Saffron Hall, Saffron Waldon for later broadcast on the Early Music Show on BBC Radio 3. As well as being a nominee for the BBC Young Composers Competition 2021 Award, Ryan is additionally studying Jazz Performance with Josh Mitchell-Rayner, a distinguished jazz keyboardist from the ground-breaking quartet KnatsNCL

As well as being a member of Fulham Chamber Choir, he is also excited to be receiving a Choral Workshop with, the ensemble, VOCES8 during the Thaxted Festival later this Summer.

He regularly contributes to church services such as at Spalding Parish of St. Nicholas & St. Mary, Penzance St. Mary's Penlee Cluster Church in Cornwall, and is slated to musically assist the director of music at St. Margaret of Cortona & All Saints Catholic Parish throughout 2024. 

Ryan Collis is currently composer-in-residence at the London-based jazz collective Side Quest Band. As well as this, Ryan is scheduled for an upcoming premiere of a new work for solo harp in the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall; as part of a collaboration with harpist Jimena Eisele-Farag. 


During his time at Spalding Grammar School, Ryan participated as a pianist in various seasonal performances, including Charter Day, hymn service, open days, faculty events, and concerts during Spring, Summer, and Christmas. Additionally, has enhanced his musical training by playing the organ at St. Nicholas and St. Mary's Parish Church. Upon completing his A-levels, he was awarded the Munson Cup for Music - having previously achieved the Beeken Cup for Arts at St. Paul's Community Primary School. 


Amongst his other talents and interests, Ryan is dynamic in a variety of roles including: website builder, music manager, writer, outdoor activities & hiking, conversationalist, and fundraising for charity.
